- Sizing bon Christiani dog collars

We're glad you asked! Proper sizing of your dog's collar is very important. A loose collar may slip over your dog's ears, while a tight collar may damage the fur or cause difficulty with breathing and swallowing. Fortunately, dog collar sizing is easily accomplished.
Does your dog already have a collar? If you are satisfied with the fit, simply measure the number of inches from the outer edge of the buckle, to the hole normally used. Then determine where that length falls within our collar sizes.
For example, if your dog is comfortable with a collar buckled at 18", you would choose a bon Christiani collar that measures 17" - 20" long.

If your dog does not already have a collar, size by wrapping a cloth tape measure comfortably around the dog's neck near the base (shoulders). For an adult dog, leave enough room to slide the index and middle fingers between the neck and the tape. For a puppy, leave enough room for just the index finger. Record the number of inches, and choose a collar that includes the same number of inches within its span. Remember that if you have a puppy, you'll need to purchase a dog collar that leaves room for growth.
If you don't have a cloth tape measure, substitute a string and measure the length of the string with a ruler.
Be sure to do you dog collar sizing correctly! For reasons of hygiene, our dog collars are not returnable unless there is a proven defect of materials or workmanship.
